We’re all mums here at MumsClub HQ, and as for favourite times of the year, Mother’s Day is definitely near the top of the long, long list.

So this is a particularly fabulous time for us as we just LOVE putting our gift guides together.

As we do each year, sadly we have to say no to so many wonderful gift ideas that come through, so here’s our pick of what we think are the best for anyone who’s looking for some extra gift mum-spiration!

Enjoy!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Lenovo Smart Display

£129 at John Lewis Lenovo Smart Display at John Lewis

This is our super tech option for our multi-tasking mums. A Google Assistant is like living with a personal assistant. You may have once thought an iPhone the ultimate in organising a busy life, but being able to ask this little box to help you out is almost unbelievable. It’s a super modern design that looks awesome in situ, the kitchen is our favourite place for it as it tends to be the meeting point of the family, as we love cooking. We (the kids and myself) like to follow Tasty recipe videos for which the Lenovo will happily find on YouTube, amazingly quick too. It can give you relevant reminders from your own calendar, weather reports, driving directions and so much more. Saying “Hey Google” is what alerts your device into action, and she never sleeps – she’s always ready and willing to help. I love her!

I didn’t just realise how much I already use Google, I’ve used Google Photos to store family photos for some time, so with a Google Assistant device, I’m able to see my photos within seconds of asking. It makes a cute visual display to have on show and although it’s a touch screen, you hardly need to touch it at all, because she hears and understands what you want from across the room, which is perfect for when your hands are otherwise busy, or you’re sat out of reach and you don’t want the cat to steal your spot. There’s an incredible range of add-on options available to the owner of one of these and for a busy mum, this is absolutely the ultimate tech gift to receive. Look out for our reviewer’s full evaluation coming soon.

WalkMaxx Blackfit Daily Workout shoes

£49.99 from JML Direct

Generally speaking I would say it’s fair to say that us mums can fall into one of two categories; fit mums and want-to-be-fit mums. We also like new shoes so the the WalkMaxx Blackfit ticks off two boxes for us! For active mums on the go, these are a fabulous low impact way to help any get fit efforts. Wearing them, you instantly feel the all round comfort provided by a 5-layered rounded sole, this comfort instantly reduces pressure on your feet and joints, and makes walking really comfy so you actually want to walk much further. The rounded sole is what evenly distributes your weight to help your balance and posture, which also helps core strengthening. There’s no laces, instead they have a clever ‘never loose’ system that keeps them snug on your feet without squeezing. Made from an elasticated fabric, they don’t stretch either.

If a mum has holidays or festivals planned for the summer, she’ll definitely love a pair of these.

Tancream™ Premium self tan & SPF50

£44.99 available at Tancream

Straight out of the bottle you can tell that Tancream™ is a premium luxury lotion. It gives gradual self-tanning and instant bronzing with a very protective SPF50 so it’s great to use both in the winter to give lighter skin a healthy glow, and for those first few days on holiday so fair skin doesn’t look too pale and won’t burn. It uses a blend of organic sunscreens, and has anti-ageing properties, there’s no odour and true to its claims, it doesn’t streak.

There’s a mum behind the brand; Gillian Robson was inspired to develop a safe tanning product after a life changing skin cancer scare. She’s now dedicated to educating, especially young people about the dangers of the sun, and we applaud her work.

Tancream has received glowing reviews, awards, and celebrity endorsements, and us working mums here in the MumsClub office absolutely love it too.

Salter Coffee Maker To Go

£22.93 from Amazon

As a working mum, I’m juggling school runs, after school clubs, weekend activities, and trying to squeeze in visits to all the grandparents and extended family at the weekends. Every day I’m on the go, sometimes feeling barely able to operate until the second cup kicks in. There was a time when I’d stop off at one of those nationwide coffee take out places but I just can’t bear single use plastic so I simply don’t go. The only alternative for me is instant coffee in a reusable cup so I have a double walled ceramic cup which serves a purpose when I’m on the go but it isn’t ideal, because I do enjoy a proper coffee or two in the morning!

I’m therefore happy to report that I’ve found the Coffee Maker To Go a real alternative. On those particularly busy mornings, I can prep it the night before, set it going just a few minutes before we’re due to leave and it’s ready to grab and go when I am. The cup is easy to grip, fits nicely in my car’s cup holder and keeps the coffee hot for as long as I’ve needed it. It’s nicely compact so sits unobtrusively on the kitchen worktop, you can use either ground coffee in the filter, or you can pop in a coffee pad which is useful. Even on my work from home days, it’s been quick and easy to make on-demand coffee all day, in fact I call it the barista. It has genuinely proven very useful, especially for being sat in traffic and for my weekly Saturday morning down time when watching the kid’s karate session in the village hall. I think it’s an awesome gift for a coffee loving mum on the go.

Moccis Traditional Swedish Moccasins

Prices from £25 at www.moccis.co.uk

When my now pre-teen was a young toddler he had a pair of moccasin type socks which were utterly wonderful, especially in soft play areas where his tiny feet were protected against rope bridges and given grip on slippery blocks, and unlike other mums, we never lost a sock! But I always wanted some for myself firstly because they look so comfy, but also to give myself some traction, stability and speed in the soft play are when chasing after said toddler. But adult sizes just weren’t available so can you imagine my delight to read about Moccis?

From snuggling up on the sofa to watch CBeebies bedtime hour with Tom Hardy or bingeing on Game of Thrones, you can nip to the loo or out for snacks in a jiffy. A pair of these hand sewn Moccis are not only indestructible but have a 10-Step Secret System, that ensures the feet within them are pampered and protected like no other.  And if like me, your mum seeks warm feet all year round, and likes little style, a pair will be welcomed by your mum too.

Mother’s Day Hamper

£24.99 from Yumbles

OK this is the sweet treat option that we all love to love! I hope you’ve eaten because you’re about to feel hungry…We couldn’t resist this hamper from the aptly named ‘Yumbles’; an artisan food marketplace who specialise in unique and different food items. This beautiful hamper is full of all the treats us mums tend to love; a gold crown chocolate slab topped with milk & white chocolate chips, a ‘Best Mum In The World’ Milk Chocolate Bar, an English Breakfast Tea in a tin with 40 Teabags, Strawberries & Cream Shortbread, and a fabulously sassy  ‘I’m a Mum, what’s your super power?’ Metallic Monochrome Mug. It’s a wonderful treasure chest of treats to mooch through and we loved it.

And, you can get £5 off your first order too.

Superfood Bakers Bundle

£17.99 – Creative Nature Superfoods

Creative Nature are a fabulous brand, supplying allergy-friendly and vegan treats. They have huge range of healthy treats which we love the idea of in general but for Mother’s Day we thought this superfood bakers bundle is marvellous, for a couple of reasons. Firstly it’s a way to get children actively involved in baking mum a cake which she’ll cherish, secondly it’s a kit that makes the process super simple, while thirdly promoting healthy eating. Healthy eating should be a way of life for us all, but it’s made so difficult when everything that we love is generally regarded as bad for us! Not necessarily so… Superfoods that taste great are a reality, and there’s no nasties in this food. And in a world where food intolerance is so common, this will be a welcome relief for many.

Salter Marble Stone Egg Pan

£22.99 available to buy from Amazon

One might wonder why an egg pan would be included in a Mother’s Day Gift, but let me tell you, there’s nothing quite like Eggs Benedict for breakfast and this pan boasts a gadget that’ll make it easy for the kids to prepare a special breakfast on Mother’s Day.  Poached eggs are so bloomin’ difficult to get right which is why we don’t generally have them. But even the kids will enjoy doing this, mum will be super impressed with her wonderful breakfast and the family will get wonderful eggs forever more. It has a non-stick coating so you only need to wipe it with a little oil, so it’s healthier and it’s easy to clean. You can poach 4 eggs at a time in the removable egg cups, or use the pan for your general cooking – scrambled, sunny side up and omelettes are all easily made.

More importantly, eggs are really good for us, they’re a ‘complete’ protein which means they contain all eight essential amino acids and they’re cheap to buy! So go for a high protein low fat breakfast whenever you can to promote a healthy lifestyle for all the family.

SEKSY Elegance Eau de Parfum 2-in-1

£35 for 50ml from www.seksybeauty.com, The Perfume Shop & Next Stores.

The classic gift at Mother’s Day is a bottle of perfume. Many women have a perfume that they wear day in and out, my own mum was once a Chanel No.5 gal until I started to build her a collection. Now she’s like me with a parfum for an occasion, because I do like to shake it up by trying different brands. I love having a fragrance for a purpose; something light and fresh for spring and summer daytimes, warmer tones for autumn and winter, and something a little more exotic for evenings.

SEKSY’S Elegance is a new released fragrance so it’s always nice to be among the first to try, and for me it fits into the spring and summer category. But that doesn’t mean it’ll be the same for everyone. The mandarin and jasmine tones make it a really lovely scent to follow you around. And did I mention Swarovski® crystal? Move over Pandora, this SEKSY range of perfumes come in a beautiful bottle, bejewelled with a detachable Swarovski® charm, making it an even more special treat.

Bayliss and Harding Jojoba Silk Oil gift set

£12.99 from Victoria Plum

You’ve just got to have smellies for Mother’s Day, and Victoria Plum have a wonderful range for all wants, and budgets. Beautifully packaged, they come with what we enjoy such as; body lotion, body wash, a shower scrunchie and bath salts which are all wonderful for a little pampering. You can also upgrade this gift set to include slippers, or a dressing gown depending on what the mum in question wants. We all need a little pampering from time to time and this is a lovely way to help a mum get just that. Lovely bottles, and great quality lotions.

Marine Moisture Sheet Masks

£13.99 – currently reduced from £24.99 at www.procoal.co.uk

Continuing with the pampering, we chose these Marine Moisture Masks from Procoal. They are serum enriched face masks that not only provide a great reason for mum to be left alone, but also give her wonderful skin! Suitable for all skin types, it is a formula that produces a glowing complexion, we particularly love the antioxidants that help with those signs of ageing…  It’s also lovely to do after a bath or shower when the steam has opened your pores, and before going to bed, knowing that you’ve given your face a deeply moisturising facial at home which continues to soak into your skin throughout the night. There’s no nasties in there as it’s completely free of Parabens and other added ingredients that are often hidden in beauty products, and you do feel like you’ve had a facial, and having those moments to yourself is really quite relaxing. Our reviewer said she enjoyed the process, it gave her a good chunk of the evening to herself, and she had a great night sleep after. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.
