As a lover of popcorn, when the opportunity arose to test out Joe & Steph’s popcorn, I was delighted. I was sent “Crispy Gin & Tonic” and “Salted Caramel”. Both packets drained every bit of my will power to not open them straight away. The packaging oozed indulgence and promise of a popcorn experience like no other.
I decided to pace myself and open the packets on consecutive evenings.
First up was “Gin & Tonic” from the Cocktail Collection; I could not have waited another evening for this one. The popcorn was definitely like no other I have tasted before. It was coated and crispy on the outside, with an almost cloud like interior. Although the popcorn has been marinated in Gin and Tonic, the flavour for me did not come through. The twist of lemon you would have with a Gordan’s however did. So just for research purposes, I had to pour a glass of gin and tonic. The two went mightily together. It wasn’t long before my husband and I, leaving the resalable packet redundant, had devoured the whole 70g pack.

Next up was “Salted Caramel” from the Caramel Collection. We had another tester in to help us with this one, in the shape of my sweet-toothed stepdaughter. The flavour was amazing. Freshly made caramel with a welcomed, slightly salty after taste. The crisp, sweet coating on the outside was not reminiscent of a block of toffee, rendering your teeth unable to separate, like some caramel popcorn can. It was enough to fill my mouth with a sweet sensation and leave me the ability to enjoy the fluffy interior of the popcorn.

Both flavours of popcorn were a delight to eat. I would happily serve them to guest in my home; making sure I kept a few back to enjoy with a small G & T afterwards of course.
Joe & Steph’s popcorn retails at £4 per packet and is available to buy online or in various stockists. Please see their website for more details https://www.joeandsephs.co.uk/
