Esther Stubbs; on a mission for change

The Pelvic Power Movement

Esther Stubbs is a successful entrepreneur juggling numerous business ventures alongside motherhood. She is on a mission to change the way the world thinks about women’s pelvic health and the level of support available to women. This area of healthcare is still a taboo, and it shouldn’t be. Things need to change. Esther started an online support group called the Pelvic Power Movement Community following her own life experience of pelvic health complications from a very young age. It was a traumatic journey through the unknown that led her to where she is now.

When Esther started the community, she was already a mother of three young children but was determined not to let that hold her back. At this point, she already had 15 years of physiotherapy experience behind her and decided that being a mother wasn’t going to stop her from accomplishing her dreams. Raising children is a massive achievement in itself, but Esther wanted more; she wanted to prevent others from suffering as she had. So, she threw herself into creating the Pelvic Power Movement. She was determined to continue being the mum she wanted to be while also making her own dreams a reality. And from that passion and commitment, the PPM support group grew into something fantastic.

Esther’s community is now helping almost 3,000 members by providing a positive and supportive community of women on the same journey. They are all struggling with the same issues and looking for some answers and solutions. Sadly, so many women worldwide suffer from prolapse and incontinence but are too embarrassed to tell anyone. The purpose of her community is to tell these women that what they are experiencing isn’t wrong or dirty or uncommon; they need to know that they are not alone. Tragically there is so little education on this subject.

The women and mothers the movement has reached so far are finally getting the chance to talk openly about their pelvic health. They are now receiving the knowledge and guidance that they have craved for so long. Esther has shown them that although not normal, pelvic health problems are very common. It is also crucial that women know that their quality of life can be improved. She does not claim to perform miracles, but everyone can and will find support within her community. The mental burden is enormous, and just communicating with others in the same boat can be therapy in itself.

Esther’s mission is to shout about the Pelvic Power Movement from the rooftops and reach as many scared and vulnerable women as she can. The education on this topic is poor, and things need to change. It is possible to be a fantastic mother and chase your dreams, especially when your family are right behind you, cheering you on to succeed. Esther is a wonderful example of someone doing that and making it work, all while helping so many women regain control of their lives.
