Christmas Gift Guide for Teens

We really feel for the teenagers at this time; disappointment for the leavers of 2020 and the unknown facing the leavers of 2021. And for all the years below, it’s just massive uncertainty all around, and after spending so much time away from friends with is so important to them, they need some joy over Christmas. So we’ve tried to find some fun and feel good for the youngsters in our lives, here’s hoping for more certainty in the New Year.Ā

How will Christmas be different for your family this year? Let us know in the comments.

Sequence Board Game – WIN!

Ā£19.99 from Amazon

A while back I found a film on Netflix – Game Night. If you have’t seen it, it’s well worth a watch, hilarious and a bit of a thriller, with an interesting twist at the end. The film inspired us to have our own family game nights – great for pulling the kids off their screens! And had we not had lockdown this year we’d have extended it to friends too, so hopefully that’ll change in the future. My point is that we’re always on the look out for new board games and this could well become a game night favourite.

Sequence is a game of both strategy and luck. Set up is real easy and it doesn’t take long to get the gist of it. You play a card from your hand and place a chip on the matching space on the board, you win when you have 5 in a row, it’s that simple (in theory at least). You have to watch out for wild Jacks which can be used strategically by your opponents to block you and even remove your chips on their way to victory, but the same rules apply to you so use those wild Jacks to aid your own cunning plan for the win. You can play with 2 or more players and if you have a Von Trapp size family you can have teams which would be super fun.

They say its a classic game but honestly, we’d never come across it before but I’m so pleased we have this in our game box. It’s challenging and addictive, and perfect for a family game night, and by presenting it to the teen in your life – they have to play too šŸ™‚Ā

Cadbury Christmas Hamper – WIN!

Ā£20 from Cadbury Gifts Direct

Chocolate and hamper, two of the most delicious words invented, what more can we say about this? There’s a fair whack of chocolate treats here so it’s probably best not to let them out of your sight, letting your teen loose with this little gem may not be wise unless they have excellent restraint. No such thing in my house when it comes to chocolate.

It’s a wonderful hamper stuffed with: Dairy Milk Bar with Merry Christmas Sleeve, Dairy Milk Novelty Hollow Santa, Roses Carton,Ā Heroes Carton,Ā Dairy Milk Jingly Bells Chocolate Noisette Bag,Ā Christmas Selection Pack, Mini Snow Balls Bag, Dairy Milk Mousse Orange Snowman Chocolate Bar, Dairy Milk Mousse Orange Snowman Chocolate Bar, all in a lovely big old box. Fantastic.

Best In Show Ted Baker for Him – WIN!

Ā£16 from Boots

School life may not have been best in show this year but having some smellies to open on Christmas Day will at least improve the natural aroma that may or may not emanate from your teen boy’s room. Luxury items go down well for with most gift recipients and we loved this set and thought it perfect for the young men in our lives.

Within the gift box, that comes in different stylish designs to choose from, your teen will be the prod owner of Body Spray, Cleansing bar, Hair & Body Wash, Deodorant and a face cloth. And as the parent of a teen boy, I always say that face cloths are the unsung hero of clear skin, such a simple item that is far more effective than two hands with a splash of water and the threat of soap… it really does get in there and clean the skin!

And, we love that Ted Baker are moving towards sustainability too as the carton packaging is recyclable, we salute Ted’s calls forĀ “fashioning a better future”.

Ted BakerĀ Pout Perfection Gift Set

Ā£20 from Boots

And for the younger women in our lives, this made us smile. Sadly there’s no going out and getting dressed up but teenage girls often spend a lot of their time in their room, so they’ll have plenty of opportunity to perfect that pout for instagram over the Christmas time. Get ready for the selfies. Ted’s Pout Perfection is a lovely lip gift, it includes aĀ Lip Mask,Ā Nude Lip Liner, Raspberry Lip Liner, Berry Lip Balm, Nude Lip Balm, and aĀ Compact Mirror for touch-ups on the go.

Pyjamas, with a twist

Ā£45 from Polarnopyret.co.uk

Christmas jammies are a staple Christmas present for many a child’s stocking, for us they go in the Christmas Eve box, however there’s a point in a teenager’s life when that peak is reached and they’re no longer excited by Santa adorned nightwear. So for 2020 we searched for PJ’s that aren’t Christmassy but still stand out from the rest. Teens too are transferring from the child to adult sizes so finding suitable designs can be tricky. Enter Polarn O. Pyret, and their super cute coordinating kids and adult sleepwear range. They are all lovely designs, we loved this one in particular, the bright variation in stripes separates these Jammies from the rest and makes them that little bit different. Made from 95% organic cotton they’re lovely and soft and extremely well made. We think they are perfect for a Christmas and lounging around over those lazy festive mornings. Their contrasting fitted cuffs on both the top and bottoms helps keep them in place securing a good night’s sleep.

What we really love though is that they are coordinating, so you can get adult and child matching PJ’s, so it works a treat for when your teen may not want the full on christmassy designs, but having the family in matching PJ’s creates a wonderful twist on the Christmas nightwear that your teen can roll their eyes at and the rest of the family can enjoy. Plus it’ll create a fantastic Christmas photo!
