I am a hoarder so when it comes to photos, nothing and I mean nothing gets thrown out. I see so many people posting beautiful picture-perfectly-posed images on instagram which you can see have been set up and painstakingly created to be perfect (and yes I’m guilty of that too). But I’m actually a bigger believer in the magic found in those seemingly rubbish photos, the ones that are blurred or the lighting’s off. These are where you find the memories of a fabulous day as opposed to one that you had to take 20 pics of the moaning kids before you find the one to share to your social media.

So I like photos, lots and lots of photos. Now as a mum, I’m always the one taking them, which means I’m never in them. My other half complains that there’s never any room on his phone. Ha! Is what I now say to that.

His phone however, is always charged up, or is charging because he’s always on it. This therefore is the perfect gadget to achieve both of our goals. A fully charged phone, and instant photo downloads all in one perfectly formed little package that looks so stylish on the bedside table.

Once set up via the clever app, you simply place your phone on the base and it automatically downloads your photos and videos (and your contacts) and charges up your phone at the same time. Can life get any simpler?

And if you want to restore any photo back to your phone, you can do so easily. This is particularly useful for going away where wifi isn’t easily available, or is really slow as is often the case in a hotel. You don’t need wifi with this.

And what I particularly like is that I can use it for my phone too as we can both have a profile stored so we can keep our photos stored together. This is a real handy benefit.

Bluebeards always have a cracking range to choose from. Aimed more at male grooming and beards which is perfect for our bearded friends. But we went for the Tame & Texture Kit; a duo of Matt Paste and Matt Clay to enable the super cool roughed-up look. 

The paste is great alone, just spoon some out of the tub with a single finger so as not to get too much and mould the hair as you like, or you can use it as a base product underneath the clay for particularly unruly hair!

The Clay works well in combination with the paste as a base, or alone. It gives great texture with a medium hold and works well on straight and fine hair that is usually a challenge to style.

It works really well, not too heavy and holds the style in place all day even allowing for when the hair’s owner keeps running his fingers through his hair… 

Depending on the occasion, you can try different combinations of the clay and paste to achieve the appropriate style, maybe you want a sleek look for a wedding or the roughed up look for a night in the pub, you can get it all with this set.

I actually use a refillable Zippo hand warmer fairly regularly, as a parent having winter outdoor sports activities to endure, having a hand warmer in my pocket for when the hot drink goes cold has been very welcome on many occasion. So having the opportunity to try the rechargeable option was exciting!

The heatbank 6 is named after the hours of heat you get from a full recharge which so far has lived up to its name, you just push a button and place your hand around the perfectly ergonomic little thing.. It’s far easier to just plug in after each use, and if you forget you can easily top it up in the car.

Where it excels as a product though is it’s use a power pack, this has been so handy when out and about, I love being able to plug my phone in to charge it up, and for my teen who’s phone is always running out and driving me mad, this is a great way to have two useful gadgets taking up the space of one I’m my pocket. It’s a win win for me. 

You can get other non branded warmers but in my experience, Zippo is the most hard wearing and reliable brand. I’m actually going to get one of these for my Dad for when he’s walking the dog, he’s forever moaning about cold hands and his phone is always needing to be charged. Worse than the kids…

Luxury Reusable Water Bottle & Tumblers

Eco friendly is the way forward, isn’t it? And although there’s a few places to buy reusable bottles, there’s a definite class distinction with the Ohelo brand. Seeing them online I instantly recognised the attraction of their designs, which are super lovely, and in a great range of colours, but we were all surprised at how much we loved the Ohelo as soon as the box was opened, particularly as a gift because it’s very much a luxury item.

As soon as you open the box you know it’s something special as the packaging is awesome (and makes for a useful box afterwards too). As well as being super functional with its vacuum insulated, double walled high grade stainless steel, the designs are gorgeous, really lovely modern designs, laser etched onto a colourful slip free, high-end finish. I can genuinely declare that this is the best quality reusable water bottle I’ve ever had.

It’s leak free, will fit ice cubes through the neck, comes with a useful strap, and it fits perfectly in all cup holders we have either in the car or in our family’s bags. And the one thing that shows its perfect design is that the screw top thread is on the inside of the neck so when drinking from the bottle, you don’t have the thread to bother your lips and make you dribble… Incredibly well thought out.

There’s also the beaker option, ideal for hot drinks. This is useful for me to grab a coffee and go in the morning but also for days out with the kids, theme parks in particular. When you’re waiting while the kids queue up for Wickerman again, and again, I tend to grab a coffee at Costa, but I can’t bear to buy a disposable coffee cup so I like to give them my own beaker, this is now my go-to beaker. I’ve already used it, and have been complemented by several of the baristas… As it’s far lighter than my old double walled croc cup, the Ohelo now lives in my handbag so I never forget it, and I will be buying more of these for my mummy friends to stop them buying disposable!

I also love the mesh attachment inside the beaker which is great for me as a green tea strainer but you can also use it for mixing shakes for the sportier types…sadly that’s not me!

In my experience, the men in our lives love the smellies just as much as us girls! Well almost, but there are so many more products available these days for the males, showing the demand is there so gift sets like this beauty from the iconic Ted Baker is brilliant. And frankly makes gift buying really easy, you get it from Boots grab it and go, and there’s likely a good deal on in the weeks before Christmas too.

I much prefer my man to emit a single overall aroma from all products rather than a mix match of different soap, aftershave and deodorant! Made here in the UK, The Natural Barber Co brings us 100% natural hair styling products that are both cruelty-free and plastic free. They say “Do no harm, leave no trace, venture on.” I read that and liked the company straight away.

There’s two product types to choose from, the Hades matte paste which is a light hold, and the Zeus Pomade which is a medium hold, shiny finish. My hubby tried the Zeus Pomade version, on his hair and beard.

First off, the smell is delicious and long lasting too, you can smell it all day. If you use too much, you may end up with greasy looking hair, so just use a dab at first until you work out the style you want, and your tub will last a long time. For my other half, he tends to run it through his damp hair and lets it dry, giving it great texture, without the wet look, and it makes for a real easy morning routine.

It comes in a lovely tin, that’s going to be useful for me when it’s empty too.
