When & how did you start up in business?
August 2008 immediately after the birth of my daughter.
How did you decide what business to go into, and what was your motivation?
I wanted to help provide mother’s with quality range of toys for their children based upon my own experiences. I only stock items that have been tested by Charlie, Megan or my nephews and that are at a price I would pay myself, as a parent.
What were the most challenging aspects to setting up?
Website building!! I am completely computer illiterate!! Google is a complete mystery to me.
What has been your biggest business achievement?
Have, or do you do anything out of the ordinary to benefit your business?
What stage is your business at now & what are your plans for the future?
After the Christmas rush we are developing the party bag side further, with more bags and fillers, pre-wrapped parse the parcels - watch this space!
How do you manage to juggle your business with family life? Has it been challenging?
It is very challenging at times especially with two under 2 years but Charlie loves coming with mummy to Toddler groups to show off her wares.
Has online networking, specifically with other mums, benefited your business?
Immensely I am able to chat to other women in the same position or have been as me and I don’t ever feel stupid asking for help. Everyone I have met so far has been so supportive and positive. You feel like a member of a special family.
What resources do you NOT have now that might make your life easier?
A bigger car!! My tiny Corsa is busting at the seams with the babies let alone a boot full of wooden toys!!
