BABYBJÖRN high chair review

BABYBJÖRN high chair review

The striking minimalist design of the BABYBJÖRN highchair is typical of their unique designs in that it is unusual and refreshing and always draws comments from admirers that visit the house. The simple design is also very functional and easy to use as the tray unit drops forward to allow access to your child and clicks back into place with a very sturdy clunk.

We had the BABYBJÖRN high chair from when the little one was 5 months old (although the BABYBJÖRN High Chair is recommended for children who can sit up on their own, from around six months up until three years.)

This high chair is sturdy, easy to clean, and easy to lift our daughter in and out with one hand. It literally fits together in about six minutes, and that’s with simply throwing a glance at the instructions first.

The  BABYBJÖRN  website tells us that from a safety perspective, the childproof two-step lock keeps the child securely in place and also ensures that the child cannot open, close or fold the high chair into the transport position. It is also interesting to know that the BABYBJÖRN High Chair has been developed in collaboration with paediatricians, industrial designers, children and parents. Of course it also complies with EN14988:2006 safety requirements.

The lack of straps may seem a little radical but this along with the moulded ‘1 piece’ seat design makes for easy cleaning and much better hygiene with no food getting stuck down crevices or on straps! In comparison, the large padded highchairs readily available on the market are so big and cumbersome, they can be a nightmare to clean off the padded seats and straps which is something you never have to worry about with the BABYBJÖRN High Chair.

The tray removes quickly and easily and is dishwasher safe. As the little one has grown (now 13 months) she is still perfectly happy to sit there babbling and feeding herself and the tray position that holds them in can be adjusted forward to allow for growth.

It is not the cheapest on the market by far, but excellent build quality (yet genuinely lightweight), innovative design and ease of use means this is a definite winner with the Mumsclub team.

We would highly recommend the BABYBJÖRN High Chair. (did we mention it looks great too?)
